Pickit Creator - Beta Version

This is my new Pickit Beta Updated Version. Me and Coop worked hard on this.
If you do not trust the compiled version use this link and compile it for yourself/look the code over for yourself.

Please Note: This is a beta version and as such has only limited capabilities. We are merely throwing this up during creation phase to get your ideas/feedback.
We expect to add EVERY type of item/armor/helm/etc/etc To this list. We expect to add EVERY possible thing you can have as a modification (ias/damage/skills/etc/etc). We expect to get the sockets added. This really is a crude version.

After much researching/checking/recompiling over and over.
I cannot figure out why it says backdoor.agent.vb.
I am more than willing to post the script and you can compile the program yourself but I believe this is a false positive and as such have submitted it to MalwareBytes to see if it is a false positive or if chaoz/me coded something wrong. This is new to him and i basically just added stuff..so maybe he used the wrong code for the wrong thing?? *shrugs* Also I HAVE scanned each file in the project and they are all clean..it is ONLY 'detecting' the virus once compiled..but the code looks solid..
I'm readding the file as I believe it's 100% safe. You do not have to take my word on it..and are 100% welcome to not download and/or watch it 'carefully' or whatever. If you have Visual Basics 6.0 and would like to compile the code yourself i've attached a .zip file link to the project. (it is NOT compiled so you'll need to do that yourself). But that way you can open the files and look through the coding. Maybe one of you knows something we don't and can figure it out.

BTW : I added the links to the files in case anyone wants to know.
and YES we are away there is a 'positive' for backdoor.agent.vb  ...it is my firm belief that it is a false positive as I've compiled the source coding myself a billion times today to figure out wth.

Okay. So do you think it would be best to have seperate programs for Armor  /  Weapon  / Charm
If we do all in 1 the list of 'items' would be MASSIVE!!
So whats the idea?

I'm just dreaming here as I have no knowledge of programming (except some qbasic from way back when).

What about having either a drop down menu where I can select armor, weapon, charms, jewelry (rings and ammy), gems and runes, jewels and facets, and then finally gold?  Or maybe a button where I can press which one I want to play around with and it changes the menu selections?

I agree that putting all the items in that one drop down menu is going to make that drop down onerous and will likely scare off newbies.

If that is too difficult, then using different programs would be the next best solution.

We're still new to VB (at least im REALLY new to it lol) So, unless chaoz can code the menu like that. Most likely we'll be doing multiple programs (which is gonna kinda suck for the users..but at least it'll work! lol)
Currently we are trying to write the 'or' statements
where the pickit reads if item has stat1 OR stat2 then keep
([strength] >=15 || [Dexterity] >=15)
But i guess people will just have to make 2 lines if we can't figure it out  :(   VB isn't as easy as java..tell you that ..

Goal Deadline - Monday
Goal : Achieve the adding of all stats for items.
Goal 2 : Try to make the program support ALL available items in 1 program instead of having to have multiple programs for different categories.
Let us see how it goes.

great idea! Wish this was around a few years back before I pull'd most of my hair out learning to write and debug a pickit. It would have saved me hours! would be cool if there was a dropdown that had armor,helm,boots,ect and once thats been chosen then the items dropdown would only be what was pick'd.... the items dropdown would be greatly reduced since it wouldn't have all listings of everything...just a thought and I think thats what was being discussed

Yup we are currently looking into how that is/would be coded. My we I mean Chaoz since he is the VB guy. It's a slow process but we are getting there. I added almost everything 'stat' to the stat list Problem being is the list for that would be just a huge :(
We are working on how to relieve this issue but yeah it's a slow production. Sad to know that D3 will be coming out no later than next year. (if all goes to their plan)

Dreaming about this again.

If it's not possible to do the buttons, we could instead have a whole bunch of drop downs on the same screen with each one labeled armor, weapons, jewelry, blah blah blah.

This way you wouldn't be overwhelmed by one gigantic drop down.

I'm currently discussing a different solution
Have 1 screen with the option of 'type' and 'name' with descriptions of each of course
then depending on what you press. the next screen will have XXX buttons you click on, and so on and so on
til you can simply see a list and you can put X in the checkbox to select the item, then X in the checkbox for what stat1/2/3/4/5/etc you want.
This is just a discussion and might not even happen..I just think it'll be easier for the user.
